Use the approved schedule as your starting point

A buyer may know that a project needs TMT steel without having all the purchasing details ready. The first step is to obtain the reinforcement material schedule approved for that project. The enquiry should communicate that schedule accurately.

A commercial product page cannot determine which bar diameter or grade a structure needs. Keep those design decisions separate from the process of asking about availability, documentation and price. If a schedule is incomplete, resolve the missing specification before comparing offers.

Write one line for each diameter and grade

List the diameter, grade, supplied length and quantity for every item. Do not combine several diameters into a single unlabeled tonne figure. If quantities are currently expressed as pieces, preserve the piece count and its length basis.

An enquiry might show one line for a specified 12 mm grade and another for a specified 16 mm grade. These are examples of how to label a request. Current availability and the required sizes must be checked for the actual purchase.

Clarify supply form and supporting documents

State whether the requirement is for straight lengths, a stated bent form or another documented supply arrangement. Include any packaging, product identification and test-certificate requirements that already form part of the purchase specification.

If the seller suggests an alternative length or material, ask for that change to be stated clearly in the offer. A change can affect piece counts, theoretical mass and the comparison between quotations even when the total tonne figure looks similar.

Add the destination and timing

Include the city, state, PIN code, site access and expected receiving window. Those details help distinguish a product-only request from a delivered quotation. Identify whether unloading needs to be included.

Keep the diameter-wise schedule with the written quote and any accepted changes. It then becomes easier to compare quotations, prepare an order and reconcile material at receipt.
